What is a sidelifter?
A sidelifter (also called a side loader or self-loading container trailer) is a semi-trailer fitted with two hydraulic cranes, one at each end, and stabiliser legs. The cranes lift the container from the side, so the unit can load, transport and unload it on its own, and place it on the ground or transfer it to another vehicle.
Container transport without a crane on site
The sidelifter carries its own lifting equipment: it loads, transports and unloads the container by itself. You save the cost of hiring a crane or a heavy forklift at the delivery point and cut the time the operation takes.
Containers delivered at street level or on the ground
We set the container down exactly where you need it: at ground level, on another trailer, or we pick it up from the ground. Ideal for businesses, building sites and locations with no lifting infrastructure, and for containers that need to stay on site for loading, unloading or storage.
Connection with the ports of Castellón, Valencia and the rest of Spain
We move your import and export containers between the port, your warehouse, plant or depot, so goods don't sit waiting at the terminal. Our base is on an industrial estate in Vila-real (Castellón), a few minutes from the Port of Castellón and half an hour from the Port of Valencia, right on the AP-7 and A-7 Mediterranean corridor.
20 ft and 40 ft ISO containers, flat racks and tank containers
We carry standard 20 ft and 40 ft containers, flat racks and tank containers, within the weight limits of the equipment. Precise, safe handling on every operation.
How a sidelifter delivery works
1. Collection
We collect the container at the port terminal, the depot or your premises, lifting it onto the trailer with the sidelifter's own cranes.
2. Transport
The container travels secured on the sidelifter to the delivery point.
3. Set-down
On arrival, the stabilisers are deployed and the cranes lower the container to the ground or onto another vehicle. The whole manoeuvre takes a few minutes and one operator.
Who uses a sidelifter?
• Importers and exporters who need a container at their premises without a loading bay.
• Building sites that need a storage container or a site office without a crane.
• Factories and warehouses that load containers at ground level.
• Chemical and food industries moving tank containers.
• Agricultural businesses and co-operatives.
• Anyone who needs to move a container between two points without lifting equipment.
Container transport in Castellón, Valencia and across Spain
We operate from Castellón throughout the Valencian Community and run routes to anywhere in mainland Spain, connecting with the main ports and container depots.
Areas we work in most often: Castellón de la Plana, Vila-real, Almazora, Onda, Alcora, Nules, Burriana, La Vall d'Uixó, Sagunto, Valencia and the industrial estates along the Mediterranean corridor.
Sidelifter or crane truck: which is right for your container?
A sidelifter is designed specifically for containers: it lifts a full 20 ft or 40 ft container from the side and sets it down level on the ground in one manoeuvre. A crane truck is more versatile for other loads, but lifting a loaded container with a truck-mounted crane is rarely practical. If your job is moving containers, the sidelifter is almost always faster, safer and more economical.
What we need to quote your container transport
• Container type and size (20 ft, 40 ft, high cube, flat rack, tank container).
• Whether it is full or empty, and its approximate gross weight.
• Collection point (terminal, depot, factory) and delivery point.
• Space available at the delivery point: the sidelifter needs room alongside the container.
• Whether the container stays on site and needs collecting later.
• Dates, and the booking or release reference if it comes from the port.

Sidelifter container transport: frequently asked questions
What is a sidelifter?
A sidelifter is a self-loading semi-trailer with two hydraulic cranes that lift a container from the side. It loads, transports and unloads containers without an external crane or forklift.
Which containers can a sidelifter move?
20 ft and 40 ft ISO containers, tank containers and flat racks, within the weight limits of the equipment.
Do I need a crane or forklift at the destination?
No. The sidelifter is self-sufficient: it loads and unloads the container itself, with no additional lifting equipment at the delivery point.
Can the container be left on the ground or at street level?
Yes. The sidelifter sets the container down at ground level or on another trailer, or picks it up from the ground, so it can deliver to locations with no lifting infrastructure.
Do you collect containers from the port of Valencia?
Yes. We move containers between the ports of Castellón and Valencia and your warehouse, plant, depot or site.
How long does it take to unload a container with a sidelifter?
A few minutes. One operator deploys the stabilisers and the cranes lower the container to the ground or onto another vehicle.
How much does sidelifter transport cost?
It depends on the type and number of containers, their weight and the loading and delivery points. Send us the details through the form on this page or call +34 964 534 074 for a fixed, no-obligation quote.
Can you leave a container on site and collect it later?
Yes. We set the container down at your premises or site so you can load, unload or store it, and come back to collect it from the ground when it is ready.
How much space does a sidelifter need?
It needs room to park alongside the spot where the container will be set down, plus space for the stabilisers. Tell us the dimensions of the area, or send a photo, and we will confirm.
